LIANZA/Rugby

Stayed up far too late for the rugby world cup last night and have a Monday brain so news/quotes are minimal. Games were pretty ho hum and at this stage this Kiwi sees an All Black win looking fairly shaky.
On the library front myself and two colleagues were very lucky to have the opportunity to attend the LIANZA conference in Rotorua as delgates and exhibitors. (One also presented a paper). The conference was stimulating with much networking done and also provided me with the chance to catch up with old colleagues and to spread the Vision Australia Information Library Service news. There was a tremendous amount of interest in our new formats and technology. We shared our exhibit space with RNZFB (Royal New Zealand Foundation of the the Blind) which gave us plenty of time to understand each others organisations, to make new friends and establish relationships previously forged by phone or email.

I did not stay up because of the Rugby - rather I had a tedious night listening to my neigbour playing doof, doof music into the wee small hours.

I too have a neighbour through the wall whose radio comes on every night at 11pm and plays through the night. A night of interrupted sleep seems in the distant past.
